Everything Wrong with TNA Impact (and how it should be) (in my mind) (5/29/14)

BULLY RAY PROMO AND BRAWL (a repeat of last week)
He has collected tables to put people through. Its no longer about putting Dixie through a table, its about putting everyone through. MVP eventually comes out… alone, why even bother coming out alone when you have a gang? Why does Bully Ray come out alone when he knows there’s a faction. But oh well, who cares. At least MVP realizes he has a faction. It turns into a replay of last week, a 5 on 1 attack. These stupid faces. Bully Ray, the leader of the last great TNA faction should know not to go against a gang by yourself. We all love Bully Ray, but unless he’s going over all 5 guys, he’s just an idiot with a dead crowd that doesn’t give a fuck with a repeat of last week’s beat down.

Eric Young leads out the troops for the save, which is great. Austin Aries wants 3 on 3 right now! Well there’s 5 heels out there…. and 5 faces. Why not have a 6 man tag with 10 men out there? Spud goes through the table.

SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH: AUSTIN ARIES & THE WOLVES vs MVP, KENNY KING & BOBBY LASHLEY (throw away match)
I really have to wonder, why the man in charge even needs to be wrestling matches. Does a king do his own dirty work? Whatever. Big names are big names. If anything this should be either making the Wolves look like stars or making MVP’s faction look like stars. It is sad that after watching NXT Takeover, these 6 amazing workers just rush through spots and don’t really have the time to tell a story. This could be a big match, but its a throw away opener with no consequence. WWE would make this match the main event with everything on the show building to it. This could have been TNA’s version of Evolution vs the Shield, even if its on a free TV show. Some emphasis should have been put on the guy sent to the hospital last week. Is he still too injured to compete? Nope. Who cares?

MAGNUS & BRAM BACKSTAGE
Yep… more of Bram wanting Magnus to be more heel than he is. Magnus, a guy that said he would do anything to get the title is a guy not getting the title. If anything Magnus should be a face going into this storyline or even trying to encourage a newcomer Bram to be more heel than a heel.

EC3 & DIXIE BACKSTAGE
Dixie has business with MVP. This could have been done with a graphic and the announcers.

TIGRE UNO vs BRAM w/ MAGNUS
I see Uno going down, although TNA could really make a star out of Uno and have him going over clean, because Uno is just above this shit. Bram is a big guy and I hope he gets a push, but I’d rather see a good match against Tigre Uno, but in a page out of the WWE’s book, smaller guys = jobbers. Its a good character builder for Bram. Both Bram and Tigre can look like stars coming out of this with Bram cheating to win, because he’s trying to teach Magnus how to be a bigger heel.

MAGNUS & BRAM ARGUE
Yep be a heel Magnus. What a stupid storyline. Magnus wants Bram to prove himself against Willow. Good. I hope Bram goes over Willow. I’d rather see Tigre Uno vs Willow, but whatever.

MR. ANDERSON & GUNNER BACKSTAGE
Ken wonders what Gunner is doing, and Gunner says Dexter needs help.

BRITTANY & MADISON RAYNE BACKSTAGE
Oh who cares. Filler filler, chicken dinner. All of these backstage segments really take away the mystique of TNA wrestlers. The more backstage of them I see, the less they look like stars.

MR. ANDERSON & GUNNER vs BRO MANS (the right guys win)
TNA often  films two TV shows at one TV taping. Apparently this is the wrestling portion of those two TV tapings, because I know last week’s had little wrestling. The right guys go over since they both have matches headed into the pay-per-view.

MENAGERIE APPEARANCE TO BEATDOWN
They attack the Bro Mans. Rebel now has glow sticks, which is cool since she can’t have fire apparently. Their entrance takes way too long, and the Bro Mans need to sell for them slowly walking to the ring. Should be an awful match coming up at the pay-per-view. The Bro Mans should jump them during their 5 minute walk to the ring, or say, our match is over, bye guys. Its awful. I hope the Bro Mans go over.

DIXIE w/ ETHAN CARTER TALKS TO MVP, KENNY KING & BOBBY LASHLEY
Two heels should be sharing power. Is it me or is Ethan Carter just a chump with his facial expressions? It gets interrupted by Eric Young and Bully Ray who MVP then makes a match between the two of them. To make sure it is on the up and up, MVP makes Ethan Carter the guest referee. I have a feeling that will turn into a 2 on 1. If they don’t want to compete, they’ll be fired. Eh I would have made it a title match. That way they’ll compete. Here’s the problem, the match is made an hour into the show.

GAIL KIM & BRITTANY vs VELVET SKYE & ANGELINA LOVE
Well, Brittany has been telegraphing a turn for weeks since Madison Rayne wants nothing to do with her. I think it will be a turn, Rayne will align herself with the Beautiful People, even if Rayne didn’t want to be with them. I know how TNA works. The tag teams all have coordinating outfits, which is a good step to looking like actual tag teams. This was just a match thrown out there for a feud. It is #X in a series of #Y.

MADISON RAYNE & BRITTANY CONFRONTATION
Brittany wants to know why Rayne wouldn’t be her partner tonight in the tag match. Brittany just wants to be with Rayne. TNA is working that lesbian angle. Brittany snaps and wonders why Rayne doesn’t like her? Enter the Beautiful People to stir the pot. I’m not sure who the face is in all of this. Rayne wants the title and she has a shot next week.

ETHAN CARTER, MVP, KENNY KING & BOBBY LASHLEY BACKSTAGE
They have Ethan’s back. Yep.

ERIC YOUNG vs BULLY RAY
Well the deck was stacked like an Austin match in the late 90s. Kenny King was the ring announcer, Ethan Carter was the guest referee, Bobby Lashley as the guest enforcer and MVP as a guest time keeper (because he’s the one with the ticking clock in his theme music). Fuck this logic, if you’re going to kick their ass, just kick their ass. They can have 4 on 2, 5 if Spud is okay. Where are the other faces to even the odds?

IN CONCLUSION
This was just a pain of a card. TNA is building toward too many matches on their pay-per-view and cramming it on one show is just excessive.

Everything Wrong with TNA Impact (and how it should have been) (in my mind) (05/25/12)

HOGAN BACKSTAGE with AJ STYLES / KURT ANGLE / JEFF HARDY / BULLY RAY (kicking off with Celebrity Apprentice)
Hulk Hogan shows Bully Ray, AJ Stylez, Kurt Angle and someone else the format sheet for TNA Impact. What a horrible segment. This was just a psudo reality show with backstage drama. Very stupid, counter productive. I’m sure that soap operas and legitimate sports don’t show behind the scenes with a fake reality show. Kurt Angle questions the value of Robert Roode to being the longest running champion. AJ Styles questions a gold medal. Angle says he’s won more titles, Bully Ray says more singles titles. Bully has won more gold, but not single, but its a singles match.

Bully wonders why he needs to convince Hogan. He’s worked 20 years and he’s the most legit guy, old school wrestler. And that’s true… if Angle wasn’t in the room.

This felt like a rip off of Celebrity Apprentice only a few were sitting others were standing. They all bring forth interesting and good points. Jeff Hardy looks crazy he says nothing but then he says let the fans decide.

Nothing is decided… Lovely.

GAIL KIM PROMO with MADDISSON RAYNE (bad voice, good promo)
Gail is the most dominent Knockout’s champion. She says she built the division and she is the divisiion. Meanwhile Rayne does her makeup in the background while the rest of the locker room looks on from the back looking like chumps. Gail challenges ODB & Eric Young.

ODB & ERIC YOUNG vs GAIL KIM & RAYNE (Gail screams and man on woman violence)
Eric Young has new music? Or did I just notice this now. The Knockouts Tag Titles aren’t needed, but hey it gives a purpose for Eric Young and ODB to be seen. They don’t need to be seen. Just do pre-tapes of their life together and keep it brief. Gail screams… a lot. Reminds me of Trish Stratus selling. Scream. Scream. Louder scream. WCW would have given her this as her gimmick.

Eric & ODB fake out a double elbow drop, but Eric can’t elbow drop a woman due to Spike TV’s non violence against women. I wonder if movies on Spike TV have men hitting women.

The crowd is firmly behind ODB & Eric Young. There is a new camera shot from overhead that looked interesting. Shockingly Eric Young gives two hip tosses to women and two slams to women. Shouldn’t Spike TV be throwing a fit over this? I can’t believe fans didn’t care and saw it as a simple slam and not OMG he finally slammed a woman.

TNA SALUTES VETERANS
Mr. Anderson, Crimson, and Gunner. Hey tie this in with a TNA shopzone commercial. I don’t mind it. This was good and kills two birds with one stone.

HOGAN BACKSTAGE on the phone
Hints at someone coming.

RVD vs GUNNER (no build)
RVD has a black eye. He looks terrible. RVD challenges Gunner. Gunner should go over… but that’s not how it works when a face needs momentum off of 2 losses. RVD should go over, but I think in a company with short matches, someone like Gunner should go over until there are longer matches where RVD would be prime to go over.

Gunner should be telling RVD that I put you on the shelf for 3 months and you want to challenge me?

TV TITLE >> DEVON vs ERIC BISCHOFF (no match)
This match had one week build to it which is better than none. Devon is the experienced pro that will be the gatekeeper. He the fans want tables badly. I think that’s a subtle hate of Garrett. Robbie E & Rob Terry run in. A tag match is obvious.

HULK HOGAN BACKSTAGE with CONTENDERS (yawn)
Yawn. I had no interest. Hogan eliminates someone. Now there are 2.

JOSEPH PARK RECAP
I love the Joseph Park recaps… because TNA faked a newscast that starts the recap.

BULLY RAY PROMO on the crowd (gold)
Bully takes his sweet time getting out there. Bully gets in the face of some hot chick in the front row that totally no sells any intimidation. ECW would have called her a skank and has security pull them apart. The commentators are worried about what Bully will do when TNA goes live next week. Bully Ray mentions Joseph Park in the crowd. There he is with popcorn. Joseph stays in character perfectly. Eventually fans chant yes. Fans continue chanting yes.

Joseph’s part of the interview is awesome. This guy is amazing. He holds a trial by the fans and asks who thinks Bully Ray is not guilty… who thinks he is guilty. This was great, it was given time.

JOEY RYAN VIDEO
Fuck yeah! This dude is awesome! He and Aries would be gold together. Give this guy a contract. Good video, even if he doesn’t have a story like his dad dying or wrestling while poor.

GUT CHECK >> AUSTIN ARIES vs JOEY RYAN
Al Snow has a suit. Looks good. Joey Ryan looked like he needed a joke. Oh and out comes Austin Aries. This match will be gold. Aries looks fantastic. Fans are firmly behind Aries. Good match. Not too great. Over too quick. Give Ryan a job. Far better than Alex Sylvia.

TNA TITLE >> ROBERT ROODE vs ??? (great story built through 2 weeks)
Hogan comes out to announce which of the 2 guys will take on Robert Roode. This was a great story told through 2 weeks. The crowd has been hot all night. They picked the right guy to take on Roode. This match felt special due to the story and build over 2 weeks.

Good match. Probably Impact’s longest match in a year.

PROS:
Going into this show it has heat because the last show built to this show.
Open Fight Night special monthly show is still fresh and buzzing.
ODB & Eric Young are over with the fans.
RVD is over with the fans.
Devon is over.
Garrett has a little storyline tacked onto Devon’s.
Joseph Park is mega over.
Joseph Park & Bully Ray segment was great.
Joey Ryan being on TNA.
Austin Aries vs Joey Ryan.
Austin Aries is mega over.
TNA title match felt special.

CONS:
Opening segment with Hulk Hogan making Celebrity Apprentice.
Gail’s Kim’s voice
Knockouts Tag Titles not on the line
No build to Gunner vs RVD after Gunner put RVD on the shelf for 3 months
Gunner not getting his heat back
Bully Ray has heat.
The return this week… instead of next week.

Everything Right with TNA Impact (05/17/12)

TNA RECAP (good work)
Word on the street is that TNA Sacrifice was a good show. TNA opens by recapping a few of its biggest angles. Roode being dominant, AJ having pictures, Abyss returning and so on.

ROBERT ROODE PROMO (another post PPV promo)
Roode had a big match off a hot pay-per-view in this case I do want to hear from him. Not nearly as much as I want to hear Joseph Park. Tennay plugs the fact that Robert Roode is about to beat AJ’s record for the longest TNA champ. They should really have someone challenge him on Open Fight Night one night before it becomes official. Fans boo him and Robert soaks it up by saying that’s it chant Roooooode! Roode says he’ll throw a party next week. He’ll call it celebration of domination. He calls out Hogan.

Hogan comes out to quite the pyro display for TNA. Fans politely clap for Hogan and don’t go too crazy. Robert Roode has demands. This was entertaining compared to what Roode normally does. He wants only green M&Ms and golden confetti flown from Canada… Hogan says Robert Roode put the company back on track by holding the title. He may have put the company back on track… but he didn’t set it on fire.

Hogan announces Roode to have a title defence at Open Fight Night. Nice. Hogan took a pole and asked who wanted a title shot. The entire locker room comes out on the stage lead by Bully Ray. Puts a lot of heat on the title. Hogan needs only 4. RVD vs Bully Ray. Jeff Hardy vs Ken Anderson. Jeff Hardy looks insane. Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe. Dizamn I’m impressed with that match. The rest of the guys are put in a Wild Card Battle Royal.

I really love this. The entire show is built and leads into next week’s show. Brilliant. Hope Aries wins the battle royal.

BULLY RAY vs RVD (good opener)
The fans were into this match with plenty of claps and firmly behind RVD. Tough to grow as a company with such a small arena. The fans are hot there over the past few months. Bully Ray manages his own 3D. Nothing wrong with this match. Could have used more in crowd brawling and chairs, but I don’t think people want long matches.

BULLY RAY BACKSTAGE w/ JOSEPH PARK (brief & logical)
Afterward Bully Ray cuts a promo on the Kardashians. Joseph Park appears and provokes in the way that he does. Bully Ray tells him to stay away.

KING MO TALK SHOW (meh)
TNA has plugged the signing of King Mo throughout the show. Now this is their segment to hype that. Then they throw to a talk show with Dixie and Bellator president. TNA and Bellator signed him. I didn’t like this because it wasn’t a recap it was a segment from a talk show. Its just to promote Bellator and that MMA talkshow. Dixie made it seem like it was her idea to sign a MMA guy.

GAIL KIM & RAYNE BACKSTAGE (not as bad as it could be)
Gail is concerned about her triple threat tonight. Rayne is concerned about her mystery man. Rayne disappears. Brooke & Velvet appear to politely threaten Gail. This wasn’t bad. Normally it is.

WILD CARD BATTLE ROYAL (AJ, Gunner & Aries)
Aries appears first so TNA recaps his win over Bully Ray. ODB and Eric Young eliminate Crimson quickly. Aries eliminates Magnus. Rayne appears to look on. Interesting. I hope its Robbie E. Rob Terry is really trying to eliminate Garrett until Terry is thrown over by Robbie E. Devon throws out Robbie E. Garrett Bischoff outsmarts Devon who goes over the top. AJ then throws out Garrett. Aries and AJ face off. Interesting combination. I smell a great match if not fantastic match. Gunner is selling in the corner. Good battle royal, Tazz sells it as the best battle royal he’s seen in his life.

IMPACT GOES LIVE
Interesting. I doubt it will do much for their ratings.

KAZ & DANIELS RECAP
Good recap of a 3+ month angle that made no sense and still doesn’t make sense. I would have rather seen AJ in a hottub with Dixie. AJ is so squeaky clean that its unbelievable.

AJ PROMO
Fans have signs that say Dixie Styles and AJ Carter. Hilarious. I don’t see many signs, but these were worth the wait. AJ explains his side of things. Dixie is a beautiful, wealthy woman. Enter KAZ & Daniels who show off a video… on an iPad. The video doesn’t show me anything.

JOE & ANGLE RECAP VIDEO w/ BACKSTAGE SEGMENT (jump starting an old feud)
They showed the history of Joe. It was nice. Then they have a backstage segment that ends in a pull apart. TNA does an ok job of jumpstarting a dead feud instead of going into a new feud with them.

MR. ANDERSON BACKSTAGE (not annoying)
He is on an iPad looking at his match with Jeff Hardy. Jeff may have kicked out… I guess.

MR. ANDERSON vs JEFF HARDY
Commentators plug that Mr. Anderson and Dixie Carter will actually be in a movie / documentary with Morgan Spurlock. Its good they mention it but they needed to be a 1 minute segment. Jeff gives hugs to the fans. I’ve had no interest in this match for years. But the thought of a title shot puts heat on this match.

Jeff Hardy tries a low dropkick to the outside, Mr. Anderson catches Hardy and throws him back down to the mat. This was a good spot. There was a good pin that you don’t see very often.

KNOCKOUT TITLE >> GAIL KIM vs VELVET SKYE vs BROOKE TESSMOCHER (suggestive)
Brooke has very nice ring attire with an interesting robe. One of Gail Kim’s boot straps are hanging off. 2 faces vs 1 heel… until the heel disappears, then the faces go at it. Good submission on submission spots straight out of WWE in the late 90s. Velvet does a terrible ‘In Yo Face,’ followed by a very sexually suggestive pin.

TNA HYPE VIDEO
It was a great video with tons of crazy spots. Its funny how they say unforgettable moments, but a lot of them were forgettable except for Jarrett guitar shotting Hogan and Joe headbutting Angle. Maybe I have that backward.

JOE vs ANGLE
They’re really trying to jump start this feud again all the recaps, all of the history of Joe himself. Smells like build for Joe vs King Mo and the obvious Angle vs King Mo. Crowd is firmly behing Angle instead of both. Robert Roode appears for guest commentary. He puts over Angle and mentions their own history at last year’s Slammiversary. I thought Roode did a better job on commentary than Tazz.

Good match, but not as legendary as their past matches, but how could it be? End of the show has Jeff Hardy coming out, then Bully Ray and AJ Stylez.

Everything Wrong with TNA Impact (and how it should have been) (in my mind) (04/19/12)

LOCKDOWN RECAP
Dumb luck gives Robert Roode the victory at Lockdown. If anyone was pushed for that title it was James Storm. Dumb luck and cheating seems to give Robert Roode victories. That’s not a strong champion. He doesn’t need to cheat or have dumb luck each and every time. Since Roode has kept the title 6 months now he deserves to keep it. Without it, he’ll lose a lot of steam down to zero.

At least TNA didn’t recap the whole pay-per-view at once like they usually do. Their ratings might get better if they divvy out the info over the show.

ROODE OPENING PROMO (terrible promos all around)
Another month, another Roode promo to kick off Impact and it is a good time for him to open the show unlike other months. Anyway, he has a new haircut. TNA could have made this into an angle. Storm wants a title shot, Roode refuses… Hogan says there will be a rematch, and it won’t be for the title, but the loser will have his pony tail cut off. That is just me throwing out an idea. Wow does Bobby Roode look like an accountant and not a wrestler. He lost a uniqueness to him, but whatever, maybe he has movie roles coming up that TNA won’t mention. After all Jeff Jarrett will be in a Wizard of Oz movie coming up with some famous people in it.

Robert Roode just drones on and on, leading me to type about other things because I’m so boring. Anyway, the point of Robert Roode’s promo is that there is no one left for him to beat. So enter Mr. Anderson and his messed up hairstyle.

One terrible promo style replaced with another terrible promo style. I’d really like TNA to let Mr. Anderson go. TNA already has Matt Morgan, they don’t need him. Enter Jeff Hardy limping and wearing more makeup than a mime. LogicallyAndersonbeat Hardy a few weeks ago and won via DQ against Roode.  Logically Mr. Anderson should get the shot, but they should have a match withAndersongoing over.

Hulk Hogan appears over the big screen. He announces a match.Andersonvs Hardy for the #1 contender, please let it be Hardy.

TNA SHOPZONE COMMERCIAL (selling merchandise)
I like these commercials as I always point out. They actually sell things.

CRIMSON & BULLY RAY vs AUSTINARIES & MATT MORGAN (gently putting me to sleep)
I’m happy for this match. It mixes things up when normally the main eventers are in a tag match. Plus it hides Crimson and Morgan. I like the fact the heel Crimson wears black and the face Morgan wears white. Morgan does most of the selling, which is appropriate, you want the colder guy selling and the hotter guy to get the hot tag. I also laugh at the fact Bully Ray as a singles wrestler is put into tag matches week after week. Funny I just saw Morgan tap out to a heel hook. Didn’t count though.

Aries gets the hot tag and looks great, main eventer, new superstar great. Bully and Aries touch a bit toward the end. I don’t think it does anything to help their feud, but there are a few more weeks until the next pay-per-view.

GARRETT BISCHOFF w/ ANDERSON/ AJ STYLEZ / RVD
Wow… the young guy is the captain of his team. Shouldn’t AJ and everyone else just taken the spotlight and said hey Garrett we believe you should be here, so we’re gonna win this for you. But then that would get the Garrett stench on them. Garrett thanks them for their help. Bad to haveAnderson just out there when he’s in your main event. Bad to have RVD out there when he’s still new…. No he’s not new and fresh thanks to this. It’s like he never left and that’s not a good thing. Garrett should have been out there by himself or maybe with AJ.

Flair appears and elevates the segment. TNA now has to bleep the name Eric Bischoff. Lovely. Flair will hold a tribute party for Eric next week.

KAZ & DANIELS BACKSTAGE (stupid angle)
KAZ has his head shaved now. Stupid. Really stupid. He’s a gorgeous man with awesome hair. They will reveal their secret on AJ tonight… oh and next is AJ vs Angle. This totally kills any heat for the match.

ANGLE vs AJ STYLEZ
This was the backdrop for an angle. Three minute match and AJ is given a piece of paper from Christopher Daniels. AJ, Daniels and KAZ are all stuck in the mud so Robert Roode and James Storm can get pushed.

JOSEPH PARK BACKSTAGE w/ GUNNER
Gunner sends Joseph Park to Bully Ray. We’ll see it next week I’m sure.

HULK HOGAN & RVD BACKSTAGE
Hogan announces RVD will be in the main event making it a 3 way for the #1 contendership.

HULK HOGAN EXPLAINS to ALL TNA CHAMPS (a terrible idea)
Hogan announces Open Fight Night once a month where a new guy not with TNA gets a match that will be judged by 3 guys. A fake reality show… Yep all on one show.  Then on that same show, any of the champs can get called out at any time and they need to be ready to defend their title. I thought this already existed, now we need a name for it? Hulk says that the TV championship will be defended once a week. I feel like now I need to only watch TNA once a month. This is like saying a band will only play the hits on this night and maybe not other times. What really sucks is one championship will be on the line… out of the six titles there are.

GAIL & RAYNE & SARITA & ROSITA vs SKYE, MICKIE, TARA, TESSMOCHER (typical 10 minute every knockout match)
Brooke is back from OVW. Let’s see what she learned… when stuck in an 8 woman shmozz. Brooke and Tara do the heatless lesbian kiss. Mickie looks terrible and Velvet’s hair is flat. Makes me think TNA fired their cosmetologist.

Rosita really needs to get a high flying style or go face and start selling for heels. It works wonders for AJ Lee on WWE. Rosita and Sarita need to look more like a tag team. Sarita is amazing at what she does. Eventually it devolves into a giant brawl. The ref sees cheating, but goes with it. Shocking finish that will lead into that Open Fight Night next week I’m sure.

ERIC YOUNG & ODB HONEYMOON (yawn)
Two people lying down at the poolside. Now Eric Young is the jealous one. Lovely. He strips down to his underwear as always. ODB then ices down his package. Yep. Thankfully this was short.

TV TITLE >> DEVONvs GUNNER (the start of something good)
Good, TV title should be defended on television. Hogan said earlier that the TV title will now be defended each week. This isDevon’s first TV title defense on TV. Hopefully this can be a staple of 10 – 15 minutes of good wrestling a week. That’s what I wanted with AJ holding the title.Devon can train up some younger guys. There are dueling chants forDevon and Gunner. The match lasts less than 5 minutes. Good for the winner.

JAMES STORM PROMO
I think Storm needed a win and a promo to rebound from one of TNA’s most high profile losses. Good promo about what losing means. His loss means something…. But I’m afraid Robert Roode’s win doesn’t mean anything.

RVD vs MR.ANDERSONvs JEFF HARDY
Oh if only it was RVD vs Jeff Hardy. The dream match that happened 10 years ago. It is funny that I never want to see another match between Hardy and Anderson or Anderson and RVD. At least Mr. Anderson doesn’t look like he has the flu like he did last week or the week before.  The match didn’t last long. There was a winner. Yep.

Everything Wrong with TNA Impact (and how it should have been) (in my mind) (04/12/12)

ERIC BISCHOFF OPENS IMPACT (Team Eric is revealed)
The fans are firmly against Eric Bischoff and he loves it and they love it too. He welcomes his team which consists of Bully Ray, Gunner, KAZ & Christopher Daniels. Good team, but I thought Bully Ray was busy for Lock Down. Bully Ray cuts a promo and laughs at Garrett. I’ve pointed it out before and I’ll point it out again, this is like Poochie the Dog on the Simpsons… where if Poochie isn’t on screen, everyone should be talking about him, just like Garrett. The crowd wants AJ. We want AJ. Push AJ please, stop oppressing him to push James Storm, AJ can make TNA money.

Garrett appears, complete with his logo behind him that reads… Garrett… Bischoff… Garrett Bischoff. Wow. He announces Mr. Anderson is on his team.

TNA SHOPZONE COMMERCIAL (effective at selling merch)
TNA actually decided to sell some merchandise with this commercial. I’m happy. The voice even kind of sounded like Don West. Kind of…

BEST OF THREE SERIES >>ANDERSONvs GUNNER (andAnderson’s no lose contract)
There is some best of three series to announce who has the one man advantage at Lockdown. I’m happy this 8 man match involves guys who aren’t main eventers. It gives your midcarders something interesting to do.

I see Gunner as the future of TNA with more in ring longevity than Garrett and Crimson. Plus Gunner has been wrestling for 10+ years already. The commentators use this as a plug fest for everything that will happen tonight. LOL what a stupid ending to this match. This past month makes me think that Mr. Anderson has something in his contract.

ERIC YOUNG BACKSTAGE (Joseph Park needs to do something)
In a 70s sky blue tuxedo. Joseph Park appears… asks about a prenuptial agreement. After Lockdown, they need to do something with Joseph Park.

MOTORCITY MACHINE GUNS PROMO (that gets no one over)
They insult Joe & Magnus (JoeNus Brothers) credentials and put over their own, such as retiring Team 3D and beating Beer Money. Unfortunately in TNA all tag teams have beaten one another. Enter Joe & Magnus, the face heels. This was basic, no frills, lacking energy, but with passion.

Enter Mexican America that get beat down. Dull. When it’s all said and done no one is over.

BEST OF THREE SERIES >> DANIELS vs ARIES (effectively putting over Aries)
Should be a five star match if this was WCW, but since this is TNA I give it one star. That’s my prediction anyway. The crowd is firmly pro Aries and anti Daniels. Minutes into the match and there are great acrobatics, counters and risky maneuvers. The fans chant this is wrestling.

This was a great and effective match at putting over Aries. Daniels didn’t look too bad either.

JEFF HARDY PROMO (a waste of time)
I hate his music. Can’t even tell it’s him coming out and he’s had this music a while now. This theme is still better than his last TNA theme that he wrote and sang himself. In the background, TNA is constructing a cage for the upcoming Eric Young and ODB wedding. Jeff mentions how it all started with Kurt how he cost him the world title… no he prevented you from winning. Jeff Hardy is very meh on the microphone and just gets cheap pops by screaming into the microphone.

JAMES STORM BACKSTAGE PROMO w/ MONTGUMARY GENTRY
James is angry. That’s it. Gentry says Sorry bout your damn luck.

ERIC YOUNG BACKSTAGE
Is interrupted by Sarita and Rosita. Apparently they want the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. You know Eric Young has so many things going on. Joe Parks, a wedding, Knockouts Tag Team Titles.

ERIC YOUNG & ODB WEDDING (the kill-pace)
Eric Young will soon be having a fishing show on Animal Planet. TNA doesn’t mention that. I also think it is strange Animal Planet would have a fishing show. Very classy setup… too bad it is ruined by a steel cage. Too bad TNA isn’t saying for the first time ever, a wedding in a steel cage. They tease ODB not showing up and the fans boo. Then her music hits and she appears in a cammo wedding dress and plenty of makeup. ODB locks the cage once she enters. Perfect metaphore.

They shows a video of the past 3 months they’ve been together. Plenty of dirty moments and face in cleavage. They say their vows that involve farting, slapping ass and taking Eric’s ring music.

Rosita and Sarita appear and call ODB a beast. She actually gets a tear from this. Rosita strips. This segment really drags. Sarita strips. Wow this was stupid. ODB points out she doesn’t have what those girls have. The priest helps ODB strip. I’d pick ODB if you like abnormally large implants. Then Eric Young strips and Tazz is confused. The fans chant this is sexy… ODB forces the priest to strip. Wow. So now they’re married it is ODB Young. Then they instantly cut to:

RIC FLAIR PEP TALK TO BULLY RAY
It is good. Then Ric Flair mentions Hulk-a-mania falls apart today. What? Maybe because Hulk made this team match at Lockdown. Eh.

ROBERT ROODE BACKSTAGE PROMO WITH HENCHMEN
This was meh less than half a minute. It gets him on TV.

BEST OF THREE SERIES >> BULLY RAY vs AJ STYLEZ (best match of the show)
On paper this 8 man match doesn’t look bad. Both teams circle the ring. We haven’t seen AJ vs Bully in a while after their big feud maybe 2 years ago that ended with a kick to the butt. Good tight match with both guys getting treated like stars. Eventually it devolves into an outside brawl. Good win by the winner.

Hulk Hogan appears strutting to the ring, clapping as he always does. Then he announces five on five at Lockdown. Guess it. Guess who it is. I think the fans are chanting Sid. Instead of being who I thought it was a legitimate good shock. Kudos to you TNA.

ROODE vs STORM VIDEO (fails to hit the mark)
Meh video, they’ve had better ones. This was a video from Robert Roode to James Storm recapping the last 6 months. Unfortunately I’m not into this match still, because they’ve had it too many times and had too many interactions. I guess they should be hyping up James Storm winning the TNA title again.

MADISON RAYNE & GAIL KIM vs MICKIE JAMES & VELVET SKYE (typical women’s tag)
Velvet looks like a blow-up-doll as usual, but hey some women consider that a compliment. I feel like this match should have been in the middle of the card, because I’m burnt out already. Shockingly, Velvet really shined in this match, she did most of the work and did it compliantly. Good job.

JAMES STORM & ROBERT ROODE ANGLE (and it still doesn’t make me care)
I’m tired of watching TNA for this week, because they had the main event a few segments ago and they’re capping it off with an angle. So these two Roode and Storm have had so many interactions and so many matches that involve one another, tag matches, singles matches, four ways that I have no interest in seeing the main event. Everything TNA tries to do to hype it up, doesn’t make me want to see it more even if it is in a steel cage… you know what else is in a steel cage? Crimson & Morgan. Steel cage doesn’t matter since every other match is in a steel cage.

Both men mention Beer Money and the past including the Bound for Glory Series. Both had interesting things to say. My interest really drifted, because we’ve heard all of this before months ago. I think a guy like Roode needs the top title to keep his steam and once he loses it he won’t be nearly as noticeable. Oh and the show ends with both men forehead to forehead pushing each other’s shifting noses and it was just funny.

Everything Wrong with TNA Impact (and how it should have been) (in my mind) (03/15/12)

I assume with 5 weeks between Victory Road and the last PPV that TNA had 2 TV tapings for 5 episodes. I pity the fans that had to sit through this second TV taping since it was probably 4 hours.

TNA RANKS (because I discuss them…)
TOP FACES

  1. Sting
  2. James Storm
  3. Jeff Hardy
  4. Garrett Bischoff
  5. Joe
  6. Magnus
  7. Eric Young
  8. ODB
  9. Aries
  10. AJ Stylez
  11. Mr Anderson

TOP HEELS

  1. Robert Roode
  2. Bully Ray
  3. Kurt Angle
  4. Gunner
  5. Crimson
  6. Matt Morgan
  7. Zema Ion
  8. KAZ
  9. Christopher Daniels

OPENING SEGMENT WITH JAMES STORM w/ BULLY RAY (who saved things)
James comes out and poorly hypes his match next month against Robert Roode… he’s waited for the opportunity since November 2011… which would make sense if he hasn’t had a few singles matches against Robert Roode…

Bully Ray comes out which is what this segment needed, because eh his promos are pretty generic with no sizzle. We all love James Storm, but he needs to put pizzazz on his promos other than his catch phrase. When Bully Ray came out he livened up. Bully announces Storm will face Gunner. This is great honestly. Gunner has heat even if he is a midcarder. I have no problem with them chopping off the head of a hot midcarder to get heat on the #2 face.

GAIL & RAYNE BACKSTAGE (w/ STING)
Bickering… Sting announces Velvet vs Rayne & Mickie vs Gail. At least this was kept short.

TNA SHOPZONE COMMERCIAL
Terrible. Doesn’t make me want to buy any merchandise. Put a price up on the basketball jerseys. I’m tired of commenting how bad the Knockouts Shopzone commercials are.

RAYNE vs VELVET SKYE (meh needed to put over a finisher)
The beauty queen vs the hooker. You take a pick which is which. Velvet has been on a quiet tear in TNA over the pash few months after losing a lot after she won the Knockouts title 4 months ago. Interesting how Rayne has the USA flag on her shorts. The crowd is behind Velvet… but not nearly as much as ODB. This match features Velvet selling a lot, which is a good thing when the other woman has a title match. The crowd stays behind Velvet in the whole match. The right women won… well right woman for this month. The only problem I had is the winner didn’t use a finisher!!!!! Pisses me off. Need to put over Velvet’s finisher when I can’t even remember what her finisher is other than the head humping into the mat which is not a finisher. TNA NEEDS FINISHERS!!! Even if she cheats to win, it needs to be after a finisher!!!! TNA throws to…

MORGAN & CRIMSON BACKSTAGE + RECAP OF TAG TEAM
TNA pairs guys together to tear them apart. Sure its good for one tag team, but TNA does it all the time. Crimson plugs how he’s undefeated for 14 months. That’s BS when I’ve seen Crimson pinned on Impact. Whatever. Undefeated in singles competition doesn’t mean much.

CRIMSON vs JOE (and I know who wins)
Unfortunately with Crimson having the streak gimmick I know who will win.  Joe looks either dirty or hairy. Like covered with dirt or something which doesn’t make sense. Maybe it is bruising. The crowd is quickly behind Crimson. What are they on crack? Oh well. The chant died quick. Joe shines in this match and entertains the crowd. Crimson chants… Joe continues to crush Crimson who is a sack in this match. Crimson gets in the ref’s face, typical heel move. Since 2 weeks ago the heel tag team champs paired with the top face… they’re faces now. Morgan interferes. They’re making the double turn which makes it interesting. It also means Morgan & Joe are on the same page instead of breaking up.

ANOTHER MARCH MADNESS KNOCKOUTS COMMERCIAL (its a sale)
It is a sale… but what percentage off? What’s on sale? How much are those jerseys? If only the commercials showed me. Worthless commercials. TNA can do so much better.

ARIES PROMO w/ VIDEO MONTAGUE (and ZEMA comes out)
53 X-Division championships held by 25 men. Aries is the longest running X-Division champion. This is great and I’m thankful TNA didn’t let this info slip through the cracks. Then they showed the video montage. The montage was totally different from anything TNA has shown. Bad music, but good meaning with black and white video in slow motion of Aries jumping and lounging around. Didn’t show Arie’s matches… just showed Aries in his matches.

Zema Ion comes out with his fucked up hairstyle and clean-looking clothes. Its funny because both of these lower tier guys wearing great clothes beats the main eventers wearing T-shirt & jeans. Zema mentions Jesse Saurensen proving that he’s the heel in this. He wants Aries to give him the belt before he gets injured. A good exchange with the wine. Memorable. Both guys looked great. No one looked weak. Zema threw the glass in Aries face… Aries got Zema with the bottle and threw him out. Great stuff.  I predict Zema to win at the PPV.

JOSEPH PARKS BACKSTAGE w/ GUNNER
Gunner brushes off Joseph… looks like it could be a potential culprit as to the disappearance of his brother Chris Parks.

ERIC YOUNG & ODB BACKSTAGE
First a brief recap of the proposal. They discuss where to have the wedding… VFW hall? I’ve been to one of those… Minnesota fair? Nah makes too much sense since ODB is from Minnesota. Impact? Duh yeah!

ANGLE BACKSTAGE
Announces Garrett vs Angle. Good. Cripple Garrett. Like I pointed out before take a midcarder with heat, chop off his head for a main eventer. The #3 main event heel.

MICKIE JAMES vs GAIL KIM (and the women getting in the crowd)
I’m not sure why… but I’d rather see Mickie vs Rayne and Velvet vs Gail… but I guess Velvet is someone they can make midcard money with. Good original moves from Gail. Creative and psychological wrestler she is. See working a bodypart is brilliant. You give  the loser an excuse to lose and it makes your winner look strong. Why is it they only do this with the Knockouts? This match seemed to kill the crowd. I see some of the crowd women laughing at the match. Come to think of it… there are a lot of women in the crowd, which there should be… they come for KAZ, AJ, Jeff Hardy and other gorgeous men.

Amazingly the crowd might be silent for the match but the crowd is still into it. I guess they’re silent watching. They still clap and chant and cheer when the face does something but they’re silent when Gail does is on offense. Gail Kim wins cheating… Two heels win by cheating. So expect a cheating finish. Gail Kim is someone who has recently gotten her finisher over… which is good.

MR ANDERSON & KAZ & DANIELS BACKSTAGE (killing any heat there was)
KAZ & Daniels are hecklers really. These two are a non entity since a returning wrestler Anderson steals the heat. Then kills it when Daniels knocks over Anderson’s drink and Anderson says… oh noooo… not that… not that… not … that. There went any heat. Hope they didn’t show this to the crowd. They setup Anderson vs Daniels.

IMPACT WORLD TOUR COMMERCIAL
Interview with a fan saying it has inspired him to get into the business. Eh wasn’t the best comment unless we actually see this guy next year. Anyway the point is to put heat on your live events and they announced where the tour will be next.

ANDERSON vs DANIELS (and how bad Anderson is in the ring)
First of all… TNA gives away Anderson’s first match in four months on free TV. Dumbasses. Sure you’ve got 3 episodes at one TV taping but they really should have left a question in fan’s minds to buy the PPV. But whatever. TNA doesn’t want your money. Next… I forgot how much I hate Anderson… and what a one trick pony he is and how basic of a wrestler he is.

Tennay plugs that KAZ has Stockholm syndrome. Yeah whatever Tennay. Should have spun that angle 2 months ago. Now it just seems stupid and tacked on but hey whatever. Just great wrestlers saddled with a bad angle.

The crowd is slowing down. Brief chant to fire up Anderson but no one got behind it. Daniels wrestling is beautiful. He’s working with a corpse. Anderson looks like he’s out of gas and really sucking wind. Then Anderson does his twisting neckbreaker and he’s even more sucking wind. He does his double kick which used to be beautiful, but now it just sucked. He’s so tired. Oh good KAZ comes out to make sure no match can end without chicanery. AJ comes out for the save… which prevents interference. Good job TNA. Daniels continues his losing streak. Anderson has a long way to go to meet KAZ, Daniels and AJ in the ring. Why wasn’t RVD the one to come back? Does he still have a contract?

JEFF HARDY BACKSTAGE
He recaps that he’d be champion if it weren’t for Kurt Angle. Now its personal… golly should have been personal weeks ago when he did the run in. He announces that he is the charismatic enigma. Eh it was kept short.

5 MINUTE CHALLENGE >> KURT ANGLE vs GARRETT BISCHOFF
If you want to get someone better… you put them in with the best as proven by the last match. It would have been interesting if Kurt Angle came out and announced an open challenge… only to be answered by Garret (and probably boos). They plug how tough Garrett is. When someone isn’t at the top level of toughness it feels like they’re trying too hard. When I imagine tough I think of Bruiser Brody, Stan Hanson, Steve Williams… NOT GARRETT BISCHOFF!!!

Kurt beats down Garrett… for 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Brilliant timing by everything. They are really trying to elevate Garrett. Match ends, Kurt throws on the ankle lock until Hardy saves him. Typical. Didn’t need Garrett to survive though. Could of had him lose with one second left and then put on the ankle lock to get saved by Hardy. I predict Angle to win at the PPV.

ROBBIE E & ROB TERRY BACKSTAGE
They have merchandise? They plug Robbie’s open challenge for the TV championship… again. Hope it is RVD… But it will be Alex Shelley.

GUNNER w/ BULLY RAY vs JAMES STORM (and why its awesome)
Tennay still mentions Immortal… Ha. Are they around still? Since none of them have appeared together in the last while I thought that Gunner, Flair and Bischoff were Immortal. Thankfully Bully Ray was with Gunner. Gunner looks intense, he looks like he should be there in that mix. Maybe its just his heat. Speaking of heat… wouldn’t it be awesome if Gunner DDTed Hogan on the concrete floor?

Gunner is the perfect guy for James to go over. Gunner isn’t in your top 3 matches at the PPV he has heat, energy, intensity. This was a good match, Gunner knows the motions. When you pull hair you check your hand for the strands of hair. When the face fires at you in the beginning, you know to duck in the ropes to get him off you. You even know the standing chin lock for a good visual. He looks like a good heel. He even swings blindly at the air toward the end when he was loopy.

Bully Ray fakes a run in after the match… Personally I feel the show should have ended with this… but you can’t end with the #2 match on the PPV… you’ve got to end with…

STING & ROODE CONTRACT SIGNING (and the boring promo)
They start with a brief recap that doesn’t put any heat on the match. In fact for the past 5 weeks these two have been non entities. They started with Roode beating down Sting. Then Sting said he’s done… then turned crazy Sting… Roode got laid out 2x and now here we are at the contract signing. This feels like it shouldn’t be the #1 match at the PPV.

I hope TNA keeps Sting out for a few months after this match so that James Storm can be the #1 face. But in reality it might just end up being Bully vs Sting at Lockdown. Roode goes into a speech after signing the contract. His speeches are so boring that I’m more content to just type about what I’d rather see. Yawn. Thank god he’s not opening the show with those droning promos. The fans look bored since they’re propping their heads up with their hands and arms. Lazy fans… can’t even stand tall to watch this main event angle… Main event… show closer… Christ Roode isn’t done talking yet. Sting just sits there. I think he’s a mannequin. Holy shit Roode talking is killing my want to live. Thank god I’m watching this at 8 am so I won’t fall back asleep. Sting really is a manniquen.

Shouldn’t there be some face that says you bore me Bobby! Bored to tears! How about some action? Sting continues to say nothing after 5+ minutes of Roode talking. Maybe Sting fell asleep he has his sunglasses on. At least Bobby is getting heel heat with anti Bobby chants. That’s the first anti chant of the show. Oh good Sting woke up from his nap. Overtuns the table puts on makeup.

And… Roode gets laid out… again. So to recap… Sting laid out once 5 weeks ago. Roode laid out 3x in 3 weeks. Way to sell your champion and sell PPVs. Finish the show with a face beatdown of a heel. Why watch the PPV when we’ve seen Sting just kick his ass… but I guess we’re seeing the match not the finish.

Everything Wrong with TNA Impact (and how it should have been) (in my mind) (03/08/12)

RECAP OF GARRETT FEUD (not enough Gunner)
Not enough Gunner, way too much Garrett. I’m dreading what tonight will entail. Gunner arrives in his jeep. He is different from anyone else. Little jeep, big sunglasses, a plaid hick shirt and giant sideburns, but with that being said I don’t want him in the role he’s in. Gunner however is awesome.

GUNNER, BISCHOFF & FLAIR PROMO (and glaring issues)
Flair’s music is played. Well a different and less dramatic version of his music. Anyone remember when Bischoff & Flair hated each other? Maybe it’s just me, but I think Gunner doesn’t need 2 white haired managers. He just needs one of them. Oh and wait where’s Chelsea? It doesn’t matter, she’s pretty useless. That’s like giving a one night escort a name. Flair is looking like a corpse over the past few years.

So they set up a tag match with Gunner & Garrett. A high end wrestler throws his hat into the ring metaphorically. That elevates Gunner, but belittles the wrestler that appears. Hey if you want Garrett to look good, you put him in there with the best. So who is it? Kurt Angle who has gone on a tear about his kids over the past year or so he knows the value of a father being disrespected by his son.

STING BACKSTAGE w/ ERIC YOUNG
Wow the closeup made him look old. He is putting on his makeup and talking to a mirror. Eric Young appears. I think TNA knows how stupid Sting is, so they sent in Eric Young, their comedy guy. A match is set, Eric Young & ODB vs the tag champs. Not the TNA tag titles, the knockout tag titles. Sting goes back to giggling in the mirror.

KNOCKOUTS TAG TITLES >> ERIC YOUNG & ODB vs GAIL & RAYNE (surprisingly entertaining)
This match makes sense since ODB has had singles matches with Gail & Rayne and Eric has been in the background. Rayne & Kim look like tag partners since they have matching colors and that’s literally all it takes. Oh good a knockouts tag match with Eric Young. I fully expect Eric to lockup with the ref half a dozen times. Over the years Eric has really been the guy to work with the women… or not work with the women.

ODB is still heavily over just like the previous 2 weeks. In fact she gets such a reaction from the crowd that she should be the world champion. Eric Young’s spots were actually good and entertaining this week. He wanted a bronco buster. He dodges run ins from the knockouts, a stacked airplane spin and complete with a falling rape pin attempt.

ERIC YOUNG PROPOSAL to ODB
It’s a little early for that. What’s it the 3rd month of their tag team? Eh, whatever. They can have a long engagement. This is probably the sort of thing they should have KAZ & Traci Brooks do years ago. Crowd loved it.

JOSEPH PARK ARRIVES
He is here to look at management… He looks to be quite the character.

BULLY RAY BACKSTAGE
Not as entertaining. He’s putting on a serious face.

AUSTINARIES BACKSTAGE
Austingets an email from Sting on what looks to be a blackberry. Sting wants Zema Ion vs Aries tonight. Aries questions Sting’s logic to have the match tonight. I smell a title change and a face turn for Aries.

X-DIVISION TITLE >> AUSTIN ARIES vs ZEMA ION (and the look)
I love Zema’s trashy look. Terrible tights, terrible afro and spraying that bottle make it an awesome look. Austin Aries is a gorgeous magician. It is all about the look. Great facial hair, he just needs a top hat and a wand.

Good stall tactics by Aries celebrating around the ringside.  Puts a unique flair on him and this match has tons of flair from flashy moves to hairstyles. Even the hairspray looks awesome, because it’s covered with magazine beauty shots. I guess it’s a fair way to end a TV match, but this just means they should put a stipulation on their PPV match. Ladder match? Hairspray on a pole match?

VELVET & JOSEPH PARKS
Mr. Parks is Abyss’s brother. That’s why Joseph has an impressive appearance.

CALF-ZILLA PROMO (a stipulation is really needed)
He’s the guy that did this and that to James Storm. Their match at the PPV will be a #1 contenders match for Lockdown, even though James Storm is the #1 contender at Lockdown. After he beat Bully Ray. What will be different? What stipulation will make this match different than the last time?

Sting appears… he’s all crazy. Yep Sting is crazy alright. Sting looks like Raul Julia from Adams Family Values since his makeup is over his eyes and he has a mustache. Oh good and it’s after the break.

ROODE vs BULLY (a wasted money match)
Again… Roode, Storm, Hardy, Bully and Angle are your money guys. You do not have them on free TV facing one another. You have them against lesser guys. Anyway this match has been built up a lot better than Roode vs Storm so why not give it away on free TV? We just had one heel vs heel match, why not have another back to back? The crowd is rowdy in a good way.

After a few minutes, Storm appears to chase out Bully Ray… then not care about Roode until he stands up. Storm gives Roode the Last Call and lays the title on him. I think Roode & Storm have touched way too much for me to give a damn about their match. In fact TNA knows the only way to get heat on this match is promise a title change. I don’t want to see someone in your main event of next PPV laid out. Why do I want to watch Sting beat someone when I just saw him laid out 2 weeks in a row?

TNA LIVE EVENT COMMERCIAL (and how counterproductive is)
Fan buries why go to an Impact taping when someone will put up a sign in your face and you won’t meet the superstars? Plug the fact you meet the wrestlers, but don’t bury your TV tapings.

CRIMMORGAN BACKSTAGE (with Joseph Parks)
Joe is looking for his brother who’s his brother? Crimmorgan have issues as a team. Whatever.

ROBBIE E & ROB TERRY vs CRIMMORGAN (and various bad tacked on elements)
Feels like a tag division is brewing. Robbie E & Rob Terry appear in matching pink sweaters? What’s the logic behind that? I know their heels, but it just felt tacked on and stupid. Speaking of tacked on Mike Tennay needs to remind us of Crimson & Morgan’s history as competitors beating the hell out of one another and then they are paired as a tag team. I think they only had 2 singles matches in the span of 2 months. They had a few with Joe mixed in there too.

Wow this match has a lot of meat in it. If anything this match makes Terry and Robbie E look good. Frequent tags, Terry does power spots, Robbie E does quick spots. It’s everything that Morgan and Crimson should have been doing 3 months ago and everything Mexican America should have done. Morgan looked good when he got the hot tag too. Good finish, I just don’t like where this team is headed since TNA needs teams and these 2 should be killing the tag division and not arguing. Tennay announces CrimMorgan vs JoNus Brothers atVictory Road, making 5 matches in 3 months. No one should have that many matches. That’s what singles matches and 3 ways are for.

KURT ANGLE & GUNNER BACKSTAGE (senseless promo)
Kurt just recaps… Kurt’s eyebrows twitch purposely. Tennay and Tazz could have just thrown up a graphic the match is still to come.

AJ / KAZ / DANIELS RECAP
Thank god they recapped this, because it makes no sense and still makes no sense.

AJ STYLEZ PROMO interrupted by KAZANIELS
Yep another and I bet he wants answers. He informs the crowd that the 10th anniversary is coming and I couldn’t be more sad for a guy who’s been with the company since day 1 to be stuck in the mud like this. Saddled with something that could have fantastic matches, but the logic behind them makes no sense. He reminds fans of some terrible angles before KAZ & Daniels show up.

Daniels says AJ got fame and Daniels got fired. Oooo KAZ calls AJ transparent and predictable and puts trust in the wrong people. Maybe that’s AJ’s fault and not their’s. I’m still waiting for it to make sense or maybe it makes sense and I just don’t care because they’ve teased this for weeks. Why not just say AJ got Daniels and KAZ fired both. Or do that TV title idea that I’ve mentioned for a month.

Oh fuck Kennedy is back. Now I really don’t care. He just steals the thunder of this terrible angle.

GARRETT & HARDY vs ANGLE & GUNNER (killing all heat for Angle vs Hardy)
Uggg. Again Angle vs Hardy is a money match and having them touch in 2 tag matches in the past 3 weeks doesn’t make me want to see a singles match. Hardy is TNA’s ratings man supposedly, so this main even should do well compared to last week’s 6 man tag that didn’t have him. You can still have Hardy in a match, you can have Angle in a match, just not the same match, but then I guess that wouldn’t mean you’d piggyback Garrett on Hardy & Angle.

Hardy comes out shambling like a ghoul. Like I’ve said before he’s not a wrestler just a performance artist. Gunner gets an anti gunner chant even before he’s tagged in. That’s heat. The crowd this week was great with chanting and rowdiness.

Garrett gets the hot tag and he’s really sloppy. So sloppy that TNA needs to cut to different angles. He’s pretty wild out there. When he stands his arms flail out. Good finish that made sense, but now I don’t need to watch either match at the PPV.

IN CONCLUSION (zero heat forVictory Road)
Andersonvs Daniels is announced. I’m wonder when the PPV is. TNA really fails at plugging their pay-per-views. You had your world champion main eventer get laid out earlier. You had your X-Division pay-per-view match for free. You had a tag match that killed all heat for your #3 PPV match. But hey it’s only the 3rd match from the top, why am I nitpicking? Oh and on your PPV you’ll have a tag title match that we’ve seen 5x in the past 3 months. TNA is really betting on Sting… but if Sting goes over someone that was laid out 2x in as many weeks does that really mean anything?

GARETT vs GUNNER (involving BISCHOFF, HOGAN & STIENER)

– WEEK 2: Hogan training Garett a brief vignette. Bischoff sees it and offers Gunner training from a great ameture wrestler, a man who has coached Olympic champion Kurt Angle… introducing Scott Stiener!!!
– WEEK 3: Training vignette with Scott Stiener & Gunner. More pushups!!!! More chinups!!! More curls!!! Bischoff is interviewed backstage… Garett moved out of the house. He moved out… not kicked out. Garett won’t last on his own.
– WEEK 4: More serious training vignette with Hogan doing sit downs and Garett doing a sitdown, mixed with real training footage of Garett working with jobbers. Garett has his dad’s picture on punching bags and needed to move out to stand up on his own and be a man (he could be 20 or 30 I don’t even know)
/- PPV: They DO NOT have a match at this PPV. This is like a 3 month build to have a match on that PPV or TV… whichever TNA wants.

Months (1-3)

IMPACT WEEK 1
– Hogan comes out and says AJ is the new #1 contender for defeating Samoa Joe!!!
— Angle comes out and refuses to fight an injured man with a cast. That’s too easy.
— AJ appears and says he’s held every belt in the company… AJ will be the most difficult opponent Kurt has ever faced!
— Angle wonders how many matches they’ve had, 100? Kurt wins them all… AJ says Kurt’s math is off and when Kurt won he had his wife in his corner… but now Kurt has no friends, no wife, just his championship. He sacrificed everything for that strap and now AJ wants to leave him with nothing.
— Kurt agrees to kick his ass at the PPV!
— Hogan said AJ is the #1 contender… but Angle might not be the champ!!! he reveals there’s 2 healthy guys chomping at the bit to get that title back… Anderson and Sting. There’s a title match tonight.
– 3 WAY TNA TITLE MATCH >> ANGLE over ANDERSON / STING clean at around 15 minutes
— Pre match serious backstage interview with Anderson. He hasn’t had a shot at the title in 3 months. He needs this victory and he can play Sting against Angle and pin who’s left.
— Use tricks like tables or have Angle vs Anderson while Sting rests or any combination.
– Backstage interview with Kaz… interviewer asks is his wife Traci Brooks ok??? Yeah she’s okay, it could have been a lot worse… She’s at home relaxing tonight.
— Daniels appears and said she shouldn’t have been there! Don’t you have something to say???
— Maybe you were right Daniels. She shouldn’t have been there…
— Thank you! Then Daniels issues a challenge to Stiener / Gunner for next week!
– RVD lost his title match against Angle… coming back from commercial or going to a commercial a 5 second thing that says 52 weeks until RVD can get a title shot (show a clip of RVD agreeing to the stip).
— Jarrett comes out and announces he’s got a match with RVD for next week. He cuts a promo and runs down RVD. He also mentions how that guy won’t even have a title shot for a year! Jarrett then mentions that RVD can’t fall any further down the rankings then that.
— Bischoff comes out… oh yes RVD can fall down further… Why’s that Eric? Because if RVD loses his match next week then why even keep him around? For the fans? Ha! I don’t care what the fans think. RVD will be RV-Fired next week if Jarrett wins! They both laugh!
— RVD comes out and says he knows he fell to the bottom of the ladder if Jarrett is there with him! But soon enough he’ll be back on top because he’s Rob-Van-Damn.

IMPACT WEEK 2
– MATCH >> Hogan is in the ring with a table setup… There is a contract signing between Angle and AJ in the ring.
— Angle signs it. He gives the pen to AJ … can he even sign it with his cast?
— Angle says under normal circumstances he would beat down AJ to get the edge at the PPV… but with that cast on you… I don’t need to AJ. That cast is a symbol of the edge I already have. When the PPV comes I’m gonna focus on that arm and make you tap.
— AJ says confidence is a good thing, but overconfidence will be his downfall. While Kurt is focused on the weak arm, he’ll forget that my offense isn’t made up of punches and submissions, it’s made from my whole body. I will take your title Kurt and leave you with nothing.
– MATCH >> RVD over JARRETT w/ KAREN at about 15 minutes
— RVD lost his title match… coming back from commercial or going to a commercial a 5 second thing that says 51 weeks until RVD can get a title shot (show a clip of RVD agreeing to the stip).
— Bischoff has a gleeful vested interest in this match as he watches from the back in his office on a monitor!
— Karen circles the ring and when the ref takes a bump Karen gives Jarrrett a chair. Jarrrett is about to use it when he RVD gives him a Van Damninator!!! RVD throws out the chair, wakes the ref, RVD pins Jarrett!
— Bischoff marches out and tells the ref to reverse the decision and make Jarrett the winner. But Eric why? Because he cheated! He used that chair and Karen is a witness!
— RVD says all these fans are witnesses too… Hey fans did I cheat? Or did I just pin Jarrett 1-2-3? … fans respond … you know Eric the ref’s decision is final!
— Fine, if the referee won’t reverse the decision… he has the power to just fire RVD!!! Bischoff is about to fire RVD when Joe shouts no!!! Give him to me at the next PPV!
— Bischoff is intrigued. He hesitates. Joe gets face to face with RVD and says why fire him when Joe can put him in the hospital? … Then you can fire him!
— Bischoff likes the sound of that! Bischoff makes RVD against Joe at the PPV.
– MATCH >> KAZ / DANIELS over STIENER / GUNNER
— Daniels wins and is elated at the victory! Gets on a mic and says bros before hos!
— Kaz takes the mic and says apologize! Daniels wonders for what? They just won the match! Oh what I said… sorry man I just got caught up in the moment. I meant no disrespect to you or your wife. Look man, I just needed this win to get my career back on track and again I apologize. Issue settled…

— Commentators ponder… Mexican America with an American Gold Medalist… They’re hired guns tonight.
— AJ is still in a cast, but doesn’t use it as a weapon it just limits his wrestling holds with 1 hand.
— Mexican America do arm locks on the cast and stomp it! … because Kurt tells them to.
— AJ wins and is in obvious pain from his arm. Commentators mention that cast is a bull’s-eye and a weak spot… but on the other side of the coin, AJ did just go over 2 men at once. Can Kurt stop AJ Styles?
– Bischoff comes out to the crowd… he was thinking last week when Kaz / Daniels won, they need a rubber match with Kaz / Daniels against Gunner / Stiener for the next PPV.
— Kaz / Daniels come out saying no problem, they’ll win again! Oh really wonders Bischoff… how about when Traci Brooks is the special guest ring announcer? She announces the entrants and the winners.
— Daniels has a disbelieving smirk. Kaz says no problem! Daniels shakes his head.
– RVD lost his title match against Angle… coming back from commercial or going to a commercial a 5 second thing that says 50 weeks until RVD can get a title shot (show a clip of RVD agreeing to the stip).
— Training vignette with RVD at his gym. His exercise, his martial arts, his stretching. Interview with him at the gym and RVD says in a way Joe saved his job. He mentions bands who have been banned from venues only to return and blow the roof off the place. That’s what RVD is gonna do in a year… return and grab the title.
— Totally different training montage with Joe, training in a gym with MMA guys. Working on strikes and submissions and clips of Joe destroying jobbers. — Interviewers try to get a word with Joe before the match. Bischoff wants a preview of the beating Joe is gonna give to RVD at the PPV… Joe says he works for himself and he’ll do what he wants. He keeps moving and doesn’t really let himself be interviewed. Joe says sadistically … just remember though… Joe’s gonna kill you…
— Before the match… backstage Stiener with Gunner in the background cuts a promo about their upcoming match and that fine ring announcer Traci Brooks. He won’t be able to stay in the ring and she won’t be able to keep her hands off him! Think about that!
— Joe works heavily on Kaz’s ribs, back and mid section.
– RVD lost his title match against Angle… coming back from commercial or going to a commercial a 5 second thing that says 49 weeks until RVD can get a title shot (show a clip of RVD agreeing to the stip).
— Bischoff is in the ring and calls out RVD. He then tells RVD that the PPV will be his last match one way or another… Either Joe puts RVD in the hospital or Bischoff will flat out fire RVD.
– Sit down interviews with TNA workers, road agents and commentators. Who’s going to win AJ vs Kurt? How will the cast factor in? Is it a weakness or a strength? AJ just went over Mexican America with that cast. Throw in video of their past encounters and who has won.
– MATCH >> ANGLE over DOUG WILLIAMS

— PPV closes with AJ being dragged away for the final time with AJ saying its not over!
– MATCH >> RVD over JOE
— Joe is more focused on hurting RVD than winning the match. Destroying him, but RVD and Joe have a back and forth the entire match and despite RVD being caught in several of Joe’s submissions, he never bothers to pin RVD.
— Commentators bring up how Joe can just get the 1-2-3, but Joe doesn’t want to. Eventually RVD puts down Joe.
— Bischoff comes down to the ring… Obviously Joe failed to put RVD in the hospital. So Bischoff goes to fire RVD and RVD just kicks Bischoff in the head. Commentators point out that you can’t fire someone when you’re unconscious!!!
— EMTs come out to scrape up Bischoff and take him away. RVD poses for the crowd!

– MATCH >> KAZ / DANIELS over GUNNER / STIENER
— Kaz’s ribs are all taped up from his match with Joe.
— Special guest ring announcer Traci Brooks (Kaz’s wife) who ruined their first match…
— Traci announces everyone, then in the match Stiener harasses her at ringside… Kaz brawls with him and she leaves the ringside area.
— She stands at the top of the ramp FARRRRR away from the action!
— Eventually Bully Ray and Abyss come out and wonder what she’s doing up there? Get back to the ring or get in the kitchen its your choice!
— She scurries back to the ring. Stiener and Gunner try messing with her, but Kaz defends her. And Daniels gets the victory!

— AJ tells everyone that in a few weeks his arm will be 100%!
— Joe is backstage watching a TV screen… hmmm… I’ll have to put a new one on you AJ and score that title shot for myself…
— RVD appears and says he’s in line for that title shot! After all he did just beat Samoa Joe the previous night!
— Joe wonders… have you forgotten? You can’t get a title shot for another 11 months!!! Joe laughs in his face and the two men brawl backstage!
– Bischoff comes out with evil intentions… He calls out Beer Money who have been on a winning spree lately… He says he has a big PPV announcement. He has a fresh match for them… someone they’ve never faced before… then Bischoff calls out Kaz / Daniels.
— Kaz is miffed at the match. Daniels is elated. Bischoff wants them to put aside Fortune and give it their all at the PPV. Kaz refuses…
— Bischoff says he hopes someone would refuse! He says if you refuse now… all 4 participants will be suspended for 4 months! Kaz agrees.
— Beer Money say may the best team win and then they shake hands.
— Bischoff then adds oh and guys the losing team will be suspended for 1 month. That’s just to make sure that both teams give it their all! I mean for the fans of course!!!

— Both guys can use power moves to get over. Joe can show off his speed and quickness. Morgan can attempt his own muscle buster!
— With Joe still in the ring Bischoff comes out and wonders what happened last night? Joe said RVD would be in the hospital! Instead it was Bischoff who went to the hospital!

— Its the contract signing between Joe and RVD. RVD signs… Joe says his pen doesn’t work… So he lunges across the table and jams RVD in the head with the pen.
— He violently attacks RVD with the pen until RVD is busted open and lying on the mat. Joe then uses RVD’s blood to sign Joe on the contract. Bischoff is in glee.
— Joe gets on the mic and says… he lied, that pen did work, he just didn’t have the color he likes! Then he beats down RVD until security comes. Joe leaves with his arms raised.
– MATCH >> ANGLE over STORM clean at about 15 minutes
— Bischoff has ordered security to surround the ring to protect his PPV main event from AJ.
— After Angle wins via the ankle lock… he brings the belt in with evil intentions… He’s gonna make Storm bleed!
— Robert Roode appears at the entryway and starts to march down… security block him…
— But then AJ comes through the crowd, jumps the barricade and gets in the ring! Security notices and quickly gets between the two of them.
— Bischoff announces that if Angle and AJ touch before the PPV they’ll be suspended without pay for a month and stripped of the title!
— Later on… backstage in the office, Hogan has issues with stripping Angle of the title. If that happens… what then? Bischoff says he’ll figure it out. Hogan says well if it happens we’ll put it on another top end talent… like RVD who won his last match! RVD wouldn’t be getting a title shot he’d just get the belt and then Joe would get the title shot at the PPV.
— Bischoff hates the idea and throws the cameraman out so he can argue with Hogan alone.
– Brief vignettes with Kaz / Daniels training together as a friendly sort of competition without ever being mentioned. Who can press more weight, who can run the fastest, who can do more situps, who can do more pushups. If one of them starts to waver, the other one pushes them.

— Angle is backstage… Joe comes in and gets in his ear… Are you gonna let that punk AJ embarass you? Joe says a real man wouldn’t let stipulations get in the way. A real man would meet AJ in a parking lot with no cameras…
— If Bischoff doesn’t know about the brawl… he can’t suspend you right??? Or are you a coward?
— Angle agree with a smile and a laugh.
— Later on… Bischoff calls Angle into his office… if Kurt does what Joe told him to do just don’t. Kurt says oh I won’t.
— Later on… Joe is dragging a cameraman somewhere and tells him to get down (Joe’s gonna film you)…
— With the cameraman hidden behind some parked cars, Joe says film it and then disappears! — Alex Shelley is interviewed afterward backstage… He says that Kendrick shouldn’t forget about him. Any title that Kendrick can get… Shelley will just win it from him. Then he pats the X-Division title on his shoulder that he won from Kendrick.
— FINAL TOURNAMENT MATCH >> KENDRICK over STING
— To make this seem like a big match, the intro needs to be drawn out. With different music. A video package to highlight Kendrick’s rise.
— They shake hands and Sting destroys him through the entire match.
— Show ends with Kendrick celebrating in the ring or with the fans. That should be the last shot.
– The 1 month suspension of KAZ and Daniels will be up in one week! Tune in one week!

PPV 6
(I only care about the A-B guys) (this card feels light… and to compensate with how light it is… I’d fill it with good matches. Make people feel like the missed something even with a light card)
– 4 WAY TNA TITLE MATCH >> ANGLE over AJ / KENDRICK / JOE
— They can do crazy stack plexes and pair off.
— Angle and Joe never touch… Angle goes over AJ to keep Kendrick and Joe strong. AJ will get shuffled down the card within the next 3 months.
— But the angle here is Joe gives AJ a muscle buster and Angle throws him out. Angle pins AJ and Kendrick tries to break up the pin.
— After the match Joe is furious and beats up Kurt, then destroys the set leading to the fade to black.
– MATCH >> BEER MONEY over MEXICAN AMERICA
— Early on Mexican America get beat bad and try to leave. Beer Money stop them from leaving. Then they have a more back and forth match with Beer Money winning.
– MATCH >> STING over RVD
— Regrettably, there is no build to this. They’re both the losers of this month pretty much.
– MATCH >> MORGAN / CRIMSON over BULLY RAY / ABYSS
– The suspension is over!!!! Kaz and Daniels will return on the next Impact!
– X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH >> SHELLEY over ??? (doesn’t matter I’m not booking this division)

AT 6 MONTHS…
(wow 6 months in… and this is 21 pages now!!!)
(the landscape is starting to shift toward Daniels, KAZ, Beer Money and Kendrick. By the end of the next 3 months the A guys will have shifted)
(there are seeds planted for continuing feuds, Daniels vs KAZ, Joe vs Angle, Beer Money vs Mexican America is only the beginning its about to get VERY memorable, Shelley, Morgan and Crimson are staying warm just incase)
(Bischoff is doing diabolical things and pitting Fortune against Fortune… face against face)

13 months of my TNA booking A-B guys (months 1 – 3)

I have ideas on how TNA can get back to basics. Push 4 guys as your top guys, put them head & shoulders above everyone else. These are your A guys and 1 A guy each week will have a 15 minute main event going over your B guys (this would be good for their 2 week TV tapings). Then at the PPVs have these A guys in matches against each other. Then shuffle the guys around for next month. For variety have 2 C level guys have a 2 on 1 match!

I say 15 minute main events (includes intros) to get wrestling fans who want to watch wrestling… will watch wrestling, because it won’t be a 4 minute main event that you can’t get invested in. Does anyone really want to see a main event with guys that can have a good match if it only lasts 4 minutes? Its like saying I’m gonna take 2 hours to make you a steak but then after you eat it for 4 minutes I’m taking it away! You can’t enjoy the steak. Plus TNA clearly has failed at grabbing people with big expensive names.

I tried to keep X-Division guys out of the mix, because they should have their own division where they get over.

A LEVEL GUYS (people would pay money for these guys and you’d pay money for their merchandise)
– AJ STYLES (young guy, market him to kids, be your squeaky clean babyface)
– RVD (cool guy the adults can get behind)
– KURT ANGLE (arrogant heel)
– SAMOA JOE (unless he’s in the dog house) (unstopable monster)

B LEVEL GUYS (guys who can go for 15 minutes)
(if in a year the B guys start selling merch and tickets make them A guys)
– KAZ
– MATT MORGAN (maybe he can go 15 maybe not, if not he goes into C level)
– ABYSS w/ STIENER (with in the crowd brawling he can go 15 minutes)
– BULLY RAY w/ STIENER (with in the crowd brawling he can go 15 minutes)
– BEER MONEY (i didn’t say there couldn’t be tag matches)
– CHRISTOPHER DANIELS
– ALEX SHELLEY
– JARRETT

C LEVEL GUYS (used only for variety)
– STING (sorry he’s 50 and shouldn’t go 15 minutes) (he should be replaced especially if I’m using him for a C guy)
– CRIMSON
– D-VON
– GUNNER w/ STIENER
– POPE
– KENDRICK
– MEXICAN AMERICA (D level guys that for this purpose they become C level)
– ERIC YOUNG (his stock has fallen)
– ANDERSON (sorry fans, he’s very limited and he doesn’t brawl in the crowd to hide his stamina, but if you want him in the B level who am I to argue?) (I’d replace him for the money he gets)

EXTRA CHARACTERS
– SCOTT STIENER (manager or tag wrestler or I’d replace him with a younger meathead like Rob Terry)
– HULK HOGAN (too big of a paycheck)
– ERIC BISCHOFF (great character, too big of a paycheck)

(I’m only going to focus on the A level guys)
(these examples can be implemented *anytime* and its not based on *now* incase someone is injured)

— Kurt uses the ankle lock, and RVD uses his feet.
— But flip the coin, RVD has strong legs to kick his way out of the ankle lock.
– Joe calls out AJ to have a face to face. AJ comes out alone, Joe is surprised…
